With its generous 38 cm length, it provides continuous support along entire limb segments, distributing interface pressure evenly to prevent localized nerve compression or tissue injury under general anesthesia and neuromuscular blockade.
The flat-sided rectangular prism design provides reliable stability directly on operating table sections, armboards, and surgical attachments. Unlike rounded bolsters, it prevents shifting or rolling under full patient flaccidity, maintaining precise procedural positioning from incision to dressing. It works exceptionally well to pad elongated armboards supporting the forearm and hand in a neutral line, to elevate both calves and float the heels off the table, or to fill subtle anatomical gaps along the lumbar spine and pelvis without forcing joint hyperextension.
